Request For Proposal – CDBG Home Rehabilitation (Westport)

PRIDE cordially invites your firm to participate in the bidding process for a 530 sq. ft. single-story home, constructed in 2022. This property, while structurally complete, requires finishing touches. It includes one bedroom, one full bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room.

The home’s metal roof necessitates the installation of a properly flashed plumbing vent pipe, either through the roof or along the sidewall. The wood siding on the exterior and soffits remains incomplete and will require either a wood preservative treatment or painting. For improved energy efficiency, we suggest additional roof vents or a ridge vent, complementing the existing R-30 bat/roll attic insulation.

Accessibility is a priority, with the need for ramps or stairs complete with handrails at both the front and side entries. While all windows are new, double-pane, and energy-efficient, some, including the kitchen slider and bedroom window, require adjustments.

The electrical system, currently equipped with a 100-amp panel, needs an upgrade to either a 150 or 200-amp panel, including verification of the grounding wire. Installation and completion of outlet boxes, proper wiring, and GFI installations in the kitchen and bathroom are also necessary.

We recommend the installation of a new heat pump split system for efficient heating and cooling. The bathroom requires a conversion from a standard tub to a walk-in shower, along with the installation of new fixtures. The kitchen awaits the installation of cabinets, countertops, and appliances.
